KWAZULU NATAL

This scenically beautiful province can be split into two main areas:  Zululand - home of the magnificent sought-after Nyala.  These rare antelope share the sand forest thornveld, riverine bush and rolling hills with Rhino, Suni, Red Duiker and more common Kudu, Impala, Warthog and Zebra to name but a few.

Leaving the hunting grounds of past Zulu kings rich in ancient Zulu culture, we go to the second area of KwaZulu-Natal, the foothills of the majestic Drakensberg Mountain range.  Here in this splendid area with breathtaking views, Chris Williams Safaris will take you in search of the elusive Bushbuck in the thickly forested kloofs.

Here you will find Blesbok, Oribi, Common Reedbuck and the Grey Duiker in the low foothills and Vaal Rhebuck, Mountain Reedbuck and Eland higher up toward the snow capped peaks.

This province is an excellent choice for the serious trophy hunter because certain species obtained here occur nowhere else. For the first timer, the range of species allows for a "good mixed bag" on short affordable safaris.  The pick-up and drop-off point for this area is Durban with it's golden beaches and fine hotels.  Curio shopping and sight-seeing can be arranged.
